Washington Black - Harbour Lights on a Winter Morning

From Bridgetown's quays to Halifax's piers, ships as soon as traded goods that sustained empire; later on, paths brought people toward freedom and work. The balloon scene catches the leap; Africville records the life-- community sewed from gospel, labour, and neighbourly stubbornness. Out of the Barbadian diaspora came voices and visions that improved Canada: Austin Clarke composing migration's interior weather, Cameron Bailey promoting international film, Anne Cools pressing for justice in public workplace. These are not footnotes-- they're the architecture of belonging.

Enjoy the teaser and discover Africville and the Underground Railroad.
